John`s Recollections
Much of Casco Viejo today remains what most would consider a slum area. There is however a revival taking place in the area that gives great hope for the future. Buildings are being remodelled with an intent to restore to how they were many years ago. It is interesting to walk the streets and see buildings in a total state of disrepair and then have the next ones restored to their past beauty.
John`s Recollections
Each street had a completely different look, some had NO restoration and others were partially restored. A prime interest would be the width of many of the side streets, as it would be quite difficult to pass one another. Many times one had to step back into a doorway, to make sure there was enough room.
