Arizona - Grand Canyon, first sight

Only 200 yards to go
Does not seem to be too much, however the apprehension level with each step forward made this a journey that never seemed to end. Actually from the parking lot to the ledge, one would not even expect the view that would be put forward. It took several minutes to really appreciate what was there, but once there it took so much longer for ones eyes to move to either side and see what else is available.
SO DIFFICULT NOT TO CONSIDER as one of our greatest treasures

How could a waterway erode our earth in this fashion? Certainly not a question that is easily answered with the first visit. This is why Travel to me is so important, as one has the opportunity to experience new horizons. You actually do retain those thoughts & questions that will never be erased.

Trip Report

A good place to start would be Williams, AZ on Interstate 40 where you could even take a train to the Grand Canyon or if driving take Hwy 89 north to the canyon itself. Continue the drive to Hwy 89 and return south to the Flagstaff area. Even when you have left the Grand Canyon this route continues to provide some excellent scenery.
