Ontario - Elliot Lake, Wilderness Lodge

Ah, to be a kid again!!
Laughter is contagious, especially when it is not contrived. Here, the sound of playful laughter carries across the lakes and forests as kids surf down the gentle river rapids. Just enjoying themselves without a care in the world, and with so little effort required. It reminded me so much of my younger years.
Discovering this hidden gem in the Wilderness, was much more good luck, instead of finding their web site

Note, that it is not just major attractions that retain memories. This is why Travel to me is so important, as one has the opportunity to experience new horizons. You actually do retain those thoughts that should never be erased.

Trip Report
Getting here is not that easy, but Hwy 17 along the northern shore of Lake Erie, has hwy 121 going north to Elliot Lake. Once there continue on hwy 639 north to Laurentian Lodge (about 25 miles with the majority not paved). After an excellent lunch and break we continued the semi-circle route back to Hwy 17 using hwy 546. Fortunately a small river flowed south beside the unpaved road, giving very scenic overviews as we made it back to the modern world, and it gave us a feeling of confidence that we were going in the right direction. BE AWARE, pay attention to road signs.
