Quite a sight to see the salmon using the fish ladder and the hatchery itself showed the efforts made to maintain an adequate supply of various fish. Even with using the ladder the salmon have a difficult task in reaching the next levels. Taking a break from constantly driving is quite important and here is a stop that allows you to get off the road for a few hours and see how a fish hatchery operates. The fish ladder was built so salmon are able to traverse from the bottom of the dam to the waters above. In their nursery you can meet someone that is older than you, that only swims.

John`s Recollections
Not really that much of a fisherman but found the small pond with an ancient fish quite interesting. Also seeing the fish ladder was an experience not normal for most, and the energy expended is quite amazing as these salmon wind up to higher levels.

Stopped at a Fish Hatchery with a Salmon ladder.
Another experience gained that had not been realized. Like what has a fish ladder have to do with a baseball trip. Other than it is the experience that rises to the occasion where one must climb up the ladder for success, or the home run is the pinnacle for those that reach the top. Boy, these salmon really do work to complete their task.
