John's Comments Very scenic hills outside of Boise going to Portland. The drive along the Columbia river separating Oregon and Washington States was quite scenic. The width of the river was to me, very amazing as it seemed as if we were driving alongside a lake for miles upon miles. It actually seemed wider than the Mississippi and the waters were moving quite rapidly.

John`s Recollections
Was not expecting this drive to be as scenic as it was. The road from Boise to the Columbia River passed over rolling hills and the drive along the Columbia was exceptional. High mountains on the Oregon side with the magestic Columbia separating Oregon from the state of Washington. Was quite taken by the width of the Columbia as in most cases it was over several hundreds of yards across.

Rested up and driving alongside the Columbia River.
Drive along the Columbia River had a priceless view as thoughts in one`s mind did not realize the width of the river. Hundreds of feet across and a water current that was quite noticeable. The river shoreline in Oregon and Washington only added to the picture.
